Why dive here
With 77+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales, ocean sunfish (mola mola) and jellyfish lake - Paddys Head offers some of Nova Scotia's richest diving. Water ranges 1-17°C, warmest August, September, October.
Paddys Head, along Nova Scotia's rugged coast, offers a genuine East Coast dive. We’ve found decent visibility here, often around 10-15 meters, revealing kelp forests swaying with the surge. Look for lobsters tucked into crevices and sculpins camouflaged on the rocky bottom. It's a solid shore dive for those comfortable with temperate waters and a bit of a walk to the entry.
Safety Notes
Cold water this month (avg 15°C). Drysuit or thick wetsuit (7mm+) recommended.
