Récifs de l'Est - Québec

Marker 32 isn't the flashiest name on the charts, but it consistently delivers. We've always found it a solid drift, perfect for taking in the classic Florida Keys reefscape without too much fuss. You'll often drop onto a sandy patch, then the reef rises, a series of low coral heads and ledges stretching out. It's a great spot for macro, actually. We love hunting for the Red Scorpionfish, masters of camouflage, tucked into crevices, their spiny outlines almost impossible to spot against the coral. What makes it special for us is the steady parade of reef fish. Midnight Parrotfish nibble at the algae, their strong beaks leaving tell-tale scrape marks on the coral. Look closer, and you might spot a Masked Goby perched on a brain coral, perfectly still, watching the world go by. We’ve even seen Bonnethead Sharks cruising the sand flats adjacent to the reef, especially in the shallower sections. Marker 32 suits divers who appreciate a relaxed pace and aren’t solely chasing pelagics. It’s a rewarding dive for those who enjoy slowing down and observing the subtle dramas of a healthy coral community. Keep an eye on the current here; it can pick up, turning a leisurely drift into a proper cruise. Our advice: go with the flow and just enjoy the ride.
