Dive Center at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres - Cozumel

Okay, Cozumel, everyone thinks drift dives, ripping currents, big pelagics. And yes, those are fantastic. But we’ve found a little sleeper site up in Costa Mujeres that deserves a look, right by the Majestic Elegance. This isn’t your typical Cozumel experience; it’s slower, shallower, a chance to really *look*. We love it for the macro. Forget the adrenaline, this is a zen dive. Our favourite trick here is to find a patch of sand, settle in, and just let our eyes adjust. You’d be amazed what pops out. We’ve spent solid minutes watching the alien movements of Sand Stargazers, just their eyes peeking out, or trying to spot the iridescent flashes of Antilles Glass-slugs on algae-covered rocks. Keep an eye out for the Gulf Toadfish, too; they’re masters of disguise, often tucked into cervices. It’s perfect for photographers wanting to practice their close-ups or divers who appreciate the subtle beauty of the smaller stuff. You won’t find screaming currents here, making it a relaxed dive for anyone who prefers a calmer pace.
