With 177+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, bull sharks, dolphins, eagle rays and nurse sharks - Grouper Reef offers some of Cozumel's richest reef diving. Water ranges 27-30°C, warmest August, September, October.
Grouper Reef sits on Cozumel's northern side, a drift dive well-suited for advanced divers comfortable with stronger currents. We often find ourselves gliding past substantial coral formations here, with plenty of nooks and crannies for resident groupers. Visibility tends to be excellent, allowing good views of the reef's structure and the occasional eagle ray cruising by. It’s a solid choice for those looking for a lively Cozumel drift without the crowds of the southern sites.
