With 177+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, bull sharks, dolphins, eagle rays and nurse sharks - Herraura offers some of Cozumel's richest reef diving. Water ranges 27-30°C, warmest August, September, October.
Herraura, one of Cozumel's northern sites, often presents a gentler drift than some of its southern neighbors. We typically see impressive stands of pillar coral here, mixed with barrel sponges large enough to hide a diver. It's a relaxed drift, making it a good choice for those looking for a less strenuous current or a longer bottom time without fighting the flow.
