With 58+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, blue whales, humpback whales, orcas and seals & sea lions - Danube Rock offers some of Alaska's richest diving. Water ranges 5-15°C, warmest July, August, September.
Danube Rock offers a peek into Alaska's cool, clear waters, a very different kind of dive. Expect rocky slopes and kelp forests where you'll spot Dungeness and Red Rock Crabs scuttling among the fronds. We’ve had some good luck here finding various salmon species, especially during the autumn runs – seeing a coho or Chinook dart past is quite something. It's a site that suits divers looking for unique macro life and a break from tropical reef diving.
