Goleta Beach Park is a solid entry-level shore dive, especially if you’re keen on shaking off the rust or trying out new gear. We like it for its easy access, just a stroll from the parking lot onto the sand. The depth barely touches 8 meters, which means plenty of bottom time to scout around the pier pilings. You’ll often spot a good variety of schooling perch and some curious rockfish hanging out in the kelp that starts to get established further out. It’s not a dramatic drift, but a gentle exploration. Expect some surge, but it’s manageable, and for a quick, relaxed dive, it fits the bill nicely.
