Dropping into Catfish Hotel Sink is like entering a secret freshwater world, surprisingly close to the Keys’ salt. It’s a deep, dark hole, and we really mean dark, so bring a good torch. You’ll spend most of your time scanning the bottom and the small ledges for those unique freshwater inhabitants like American eels, various killifish, and even freshwater flounder if you’re lucky. It’s a niche dive, best suited for those who appreciate the unusual and don’t mind a less colourful, more investigative experience.
