With 87+ marine species recorded in the area - including bull sharks, dolphins, hammerhead sharks, seahorses and sea turtles - Crater Jr. offers some of Florida Keys's richest diving. Water ranges 19-32°C, warmest July, August, September.
Crater Jr. is a straightforward dive, topping out at 16 meters. What you'll find here is a mostly sandy bottom with scattered coral heads and a surprising number of juvenile reef fish hiding among them. It’s a good spot for newer divers to practice buoyancy, or for a relaxed second dive. Don't expect dramatic topography, but it’s an easy, calm plunge.
