The Scuba Club - Florida Keys
The team at The Scuba Club are proper old-school Keys divers, the kind who know the reefs like their own backyard. We love that they’ve been around since '72, which means they've seen the changes and know the classic spots inside out. This isn’t a place for quick, cattle-boat diving. They focus heavily on PADI certifications, from Open Water right up to Master Scuba Diver, and we’d say it suits anyone looking for a more personalised, family-feel experience. If you’re serious about improving your diving and want to connect with a genuinely passionate crew, this is your place. Forget renting gear here, they’re all about teaching you the ropes with your own kit, which we think is a smart move for building good habits. Our favourite dives with them often involve heading out to some of the lesser-known patch reefs. We've seen massive goliath grouper lingering under ledges, and on a good day, the schools of grunts and snapper are so thick they hum. They’re great at reading the conditions, so if it’s a bit choppy on the ocean side, they’ll pivot to a calmer bay site where you can still find plenty of nurse sharks napping and big barrel sponges to explore. Just be prepared for that laid-back Keys pace; things run on island time, but it’s always worth the wait.
