Why dive here
With 87+ marine species recorded in the area - including bull sharks, dolphins, hammerhead sharks, seahorses and sea turtles - Boynton Ledges offers some of Florida Keys's richest reef diving. Water ranges 19-32°C, warmest July, August, September.
Boynton Ledges sits at a comfortable 21 meters, a nice depth for those just getting comfortable in the Keys. We often find big schools of grunt and snapper here, just hanging out in the gentle current, creating a lovely silver curtain effect. It’s a good spot to hone your buoyancy and really just relax into the dive. While you won't find dramatic drop-offs, the ledges themselves provide plenty of nooks and crannies to peer into, often revealing a moray eel or a spiny lobster tucked away. We’d suggest Boynton Ledges for a calm afternoon dive, especially if you're looking for an easy, pleasant experience without too much fuss.
