Spanish Anchor - Florida Keys
The Spanish Anchor is a pretty straightforward dive off Key Largo, definitely one for newer divers or those looking for a relaxed afternoon. At 14 meters, it’s a comfortable depth, making for a long bottom time. We found the anchor itself, an old iron artifact, the main draw, often surrounded by small schools of grunts and snapper. Look closely in the coral patches nearby and you’ll spot parrotfish munching away. It’s a gentle introduction to the Keys’ reefs without any tricky currents to worry about.
