With 87+ marine species recorded in the area - including bull sharks, dolphins, hammerhead sharks, seahorses and sea turtles - State Harbor offers some of Florida Keys's richest reef diving. Water ranges 19-32°C, warmest July, August, September.
State Harbor in the Florida Keys makes for a pretty easy dive, dropping down to a consistent 11 metres. It's a nice spot for newer divers looking to get comfortable, or even experienced divers wanting a relaxed second dive. You'll often find nurse sharks resting under ledges, and we've seen everything from spiny lobsters to southern stingrays cruising over the sandy patches between the coral heads. It’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s reliably pleasant, and a good bet when you want something straightforward.
