With 142+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, octopuses, seahorses, sea turtles and mantis shrimp - Charleston Nearshore Reef offers some of Florida Springs's richest reef diving. Water ranges 16-31°C, warmest June, July, August.
The Charleston Nearshore Reef offers a look at Florida’s shallow coral habitats. We’ve found decent hard coral formations here, with the usual suspects like grunts, snapper, and the occasional loggerhead turtle making an appearance. It’s a good spot for newer divers or for a relaxed second dive, generally quite calm with manageable currents. Expect depths around the 10-15 meter mark.
