Why dive here
With 142+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, octopuses, seahorses, sea turtles and mantis shrimp - Hector Reef offers some of Florida Springs's richest reef diving. Water ranges 16-31°C, warmest June, July, August.
Hector Reef, out in the Florida Keys, is a decent coral dive. You’ll find healthy hard coral formations and a good number of reef fish - parrotfish, grunts, and snapper are pretty common. It’s a solid choice for a multi-tank day when you’re looking for a relaxed, straightforward dive with average visibility. We’d suggest it for divers who enjoy simply cruising a reef without needing big pelagics or dramatic topography.
