Why dive here
With 142+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, octopuses, seahorses, sea turtles and mantis shrimp - Reef J - Tug Elmira offers some of Florida Springs's richest reef diving. Water ranges 16-31°C, warmest June, July, August.
The Tug Elmira at Reef J is one of the more accessible wrecks in Florida Springs, a decent option for a casual afternoon dive. We've found it generally holds a good population of smaller reef fish, parrotfish and snapper often hanging around the structure. The wreck itself isn't massive, but it offers enough to explore for an hour and is a good site for newer wreck divers or those looking for a relaxed dive.
