Smith Moore Wreck - Great Lakes

Diving the Smith Moore Wreck in the Great Lakes means pulling on a drysuit and dropping onto a piece of history. This wooden schooner, around 40 metres long, sits upright, mostly intact. The stern cabin is gone, but the bow, mast steps, and the general hull shape are still very recognisable. Expect to see some hefty lake trout and burbot patrolling the holds, especially in the deeper sections. It’s a compelling dive for those interested in maritime history and the unique challenges of freshwater wreck diving.
