Hampton Dive Center - New England
The team at Hampton Dive Center are like a warm cup of coffee on a chilly New England morning – exactly what you need to get going. We’ve found they really excel at getting new divers comfortable in the local waters. If you’re looking to get certified, or maybe finally take the plunge into becoming an instructor yourself, this is where we’d send you. They handle everything from Open Water up through IDC with a seasoned, patient approach that just feels right. What we love about them is their dedication to making cold water diving approachable. We’ve spent some time exploring the wrecks and reefs off the New England coast, and it’s a different beast from tropical diving. Think about the chill that hits you even through a drysuit, the way the light filters through the green-blue water, or the sheer density of a school of pollock moving as one. Hampton Dive Center prepares you for all that, not just physically, but mentally. Our favourite tip they gave us was to always bring a thermos of hot chocolate for after the dive, a small touch that makes a huge difference when the air temp is hovering around zero. They know these waters intimately, and that local knowledge is invaluable.
