The Papoose, a German U-boat victim, sits in 35 meters of water off North Carolina. Expect to see sand tiger sharks circling the wreck, particularly during summer. The currents can be strong, so it’s a site best suited for experienced divers comfortable with drift conditions. Visibility here often exceeds 20 meters, making for good wreck penetration opportunities.
