East Entrance Reef is a solid pick for Pacific Northwest diving, especially if you're keen on the larger critters that tend to cruise through. We’ve found the best approach is often a drift, letting the current carry you past dense sections of reef where Dungeness crabs dig into the sand and giant octopus find homes in the rocky crevices. Keep an eye out for patrolling blue sharks further out, or the distinct shape of a big skate resting on the bottom. It’s a site that rewards patience and a good sense of buoyancy, perfect for divers who appreciate the cool, rich waters of the North Pacific.
