Entrance Reef, tucked away in the often-chilly waters of the Pacific Northwest, offers a classic cold-water dive. We've often found ourselves navigating through kelp forests here, which can feel like an underwater maze but are home to some truly interesting creatures. Keep an eye out for the resident giant octopus, often tucked into crevices, and we’ve spotted various crabs, from the hefty Red Rock Crab to more elusive Slender Crabs. It’s a site that rewards a slow pace and good buoyancy, perfect for divers who appreciate the subtle beauty of temperate reefs over flashier tropical ones.
