    CharacterReef dive

Escape Reef, tucked away in the Pacific Northwest, offers a classic cold-water dive. We've often found ourselves drifting over rocky outcroppings here, scanning for the resident giant octopus that sometimes peeks out from its den. Visibility can swing, but on a good day, you're tracking schools of Pacific herring, their silver scales flashing in the filtered light. It's a spot we’d recommend for divers who appreciate the subtle beauty of temperate reefs and the thrill of spotting unique invertebrates like the Spotted Ratfish or a cautious Dungeness Crab.

    Safety Notes

Cold water this month (avg 11°C). Drysuit or thick wetsuit (7mm+) recommended.
