Plover Reefs - Pacific Northwest
Plover Reefs might not grab headlines like some tropical locales, but for us, it's a solid Pacific Northwest dive. You're looking at a patchwork of rock and coral, a surprisingly vibrant landscape given the cooler water. We've often found ourselves watching Dungeness crabs scuttling across the seabed, and if you’re lucky, a Spotted Ratfish might glide past. Keep an eye out for schooling herring or sardines, especially when the coho or Chinook salmon are around. It's a site that rewards a slow, deliberate dive, really letting you observe the local characters.
