With 35+ marine species recorded in the area - including humpback whales, orcas and seals & sea lions - Stimpson Reef offers some of Pacific Northwest's richest reef diving. Water ranges 7-17°C, warmest July, August, September.
Stimpson Reef, up in the Pacific Northwest, isn't a showstopper, but it offers a solid dive for those who appreciate the chillier waters. We've always found it a good spot for a relaxed drift, often spotting sidestriped shrimp tucked into crevices and the occasional spiny dogfish cruising by. If you’re lucky, a curious spotted ratfish might even glide past. It’s a site for divers who enjoy taking their time, perfect for a long bottom time observing the quieter side of the local marine life. You might not see a pink salmon or an orca every time, but there’s always something to discover if you look closely.
