Why dive here
With 35+ marine species recorded in the area - including humpback whales, orcas and seals & sea lions - Sunny Side Beach offers some of Pacific Northwest's richest shore diving. Water ranges 7-17°C, warmest July, August, September.
Sunny Side Beach is a solid shore dive, good for knocking off some rust or testing new gear. You'll find a mix of rocky substrate and sandy patches, home to sculpins, crabs, and nudibranchs if you look closely. It's a forgiving entry, making it a decent spot for newer divers or those who prefer easy access over big thrills. We often use it for skill practice when the weather is calm.
