RIG - Gulf of Tadjoura
The RIG wreck in the Gulf of Tadjoura offers a proper deep dive, sitting upright at 53 metres. It’s a tug vessel, sunk in '97 after a fire, and you can still sense that history when you descend. We’ve found the stern deck a good starting point, usually with some schooling snapper and often a patrolling reef shark. Inside, penetration is possible for those with the right training, and we’ve seen some huge groupers sheltering in the engine room. It’s a dive for advanced wreck enthusiasts comfortable with depth, but the outside of the superstructure is still fascinating for a quick look.
