SHANNO - Gulf of Tadjoura

We like Shanno because it’s a nice, easy dive, sitting shallow at just 8 meters. It's the remains of a steamship, scuttled back in 1941, and while it's marked as "dangerous" on the charts, that just means it's a known wreck, not that it’s falling apart on your head. The structure is pretty broken up, but you can still make out the bow and stern sections, perfect for a leisurely swim-through or just peering into shadowed nooks. The wreck itself has become a home to all sorts of critters – we’ve seen plenty of schooling snapper and barracuda hanging around, and the occasional turtle cruises by too. It’s a great spot for newer wreck divers or anyone who just wants a relaxed, interesting dive without the depth.
