Why dive here
With 197+ marine species recorded in the area - including blacktip reef sharks, blue-spotted stingrays, dugongs, hammerhead sharks and sea turtles - TADJOURAH offers some of Gulf of Tadjoura's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 27-32°C, warmest June, September, October.
The Tadjourah wreck in the Gulf of Tadjoura offers a unique, shallow dive into a piece of Djibouti's maritime history. This trawler, resting at just 5 metres, sank back in '75 and has since become a home for the usual Red Sea suspects. You'll likely spot plenty of fusiliers darting around the superstructure and the occasional snapper peeking from a dark corner. It's a relaxed site, perfect for a long bottom time, giving you a chance to really explore the wreck's character and the life that's colonised it. We'd suggest it for divers looking for an easy, contemplative wreck dive, perhaps with a camera in hand.
