Marina Divers - Dahab

Marina Divers in Dahab is one of those spots we keep coming back to. It’s right there in the harbour, so a lot of people just swim past, but that’s their loss. We love a harbour dive. The entry is a breeze, just a step off the sand, and you’re immediately in a completely different world to the busy Dahab promenade. Drop down to about 5-7 metres and you’re in a sprawling field of staghorn coral, easily our favourite part of the site. It’s like a miniature forest, intricate and sprawling. Look closely, and you’ll spot yellowfin stingfish hiding amongst the branches, perfectly camouflaged. We’ve had incredible luck finding fringelip mullet sifting through the sand nearby, their barbels always busy. The real magic happens when you catch the fluorescence grass coral at dusk; it practically glows with a soft, otherworldly light. There’s always a bustling school of tropical silversides darting around, reflecting the light like a thousand tiny mirrors. While it might not have the dramatic drop-offs of some other Dahab sites, Marina Divers offers an intimate look at reef life, perfect for photographers or anyone who enjoys a slow, deliberate dive. You can spend an hour in that staghorn patch alone and still feel like you’ve missed something.
