With 52+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, humpback whales, oceanic whitetip sharks, spinner dolphins and whale sharks - Shaab Nakari offers some of Deep South's richest reef diving. Water ranges 22-31°C, warmest July, August, September.
Shaab Nakari is a straightforward reef dive, shallow enough for newer divers to feel comfortable. The coral formations here create plenty of hiding spots for smaller reef fish; look out for schools of snapper and fusiliers weaving through the bommies. It’s a gentle introduction to the Red Sea, generally with mild currents and good visibility. We often use it for checking gear and getting back into the swing of diving.
