IDive Diving Center - Hurghada
The team at IDive Diving Center have this relaxed, confident vibe that we really appreciate. Erika and Carlo have been running things from Fort Arabesque for over two decades now, and that kind of longevity in Hurghada speaks volumes. We love how they’ve branched out beyond just the standard PADI ladder. Sure, you can do your Open Water right up to IDC with them, but it’s the freediving and marine biology courses that really caught our eye. There's something genuinely special about learning how to hold your breath for minutes while drifting over a reef, or having a dedicated marine biologist point out the subtle differences between butterflyfish species. We’ve found their small group policy makes a massive difference, especially when you’re trying to refine a skill or truly absorb some knowledge. Their house reef, straight off the beach, is a fantastic spot for a warm-up dive or night dive, with parrotfish sleeping in crevices and occasionally a blue-spotted stingray cruising the sandy patches. If you’re looking for a dive centre that prioritises education and a personal touch over churning through divers, IDive is our pick.
