Ilios Dive Club - Hurghada
The team at Ilios Dive Club are the kind of people you want looking after you in Hurghada. Nestled right in the Steigenberger ALDAU Resort, it’s a PADI 5-Star IDC Resort, so they’re serious about training, but it never feels stuffy. We love that their house reef is genuinely decent for an orientation dive or a quick afternoon splash – we’ve seen eagle rays cruise past there more than once. What really sets Ilios apart is their focus on making boat trips feel personal, not like a cattle call. They run daily trips to some of Hurghada's classic sites, yes, but they’re good at reading the room and finding those quieter corners. We’d suggest chatting with them about hitting up Abu Ramada North in the morning, before the crowds arrive, when the schooling jacks are more active, or heading south towards Small Giftun for the wall dives, especially on a calm day when the visibility really opens up. They’re super organised, from the gear setup to the post-dive tea. For divers who appreciate efficiency without sacrificing that friendly, relaxed vibe, Ilios is our pick.
