Master Diving Center - Hurghada
The team at Master Diving Center are the kind of people you want to spend a week with. Based in Makadi Bay, just south of the main Hurghada strip, they offer a slightly calmer entry point to the Red Sea. We often find ourselves recommending them to divers looking for good value, unpretentious diving, especially those bringing along non-diving partners or families who want resort amenities nearby. Their operation runs like a well-oiled machine without feeling clinical, which is a balance many larger centres struggle with. Our favourite days out with them involved a leisurely morning boat trip, often heading towards sites like Abu Hashish or Sha’ab Saiman. Visibility out there is typically excellent, often pushing 30 metres, with sunlight dappling through the water onto big table corals. You’ll see plenty of bannerfish and butterflyfish flitting about, and we’ve had some cracking encounters with blue-spotted rays resting on the sandy patches. They’re PADI 5-star, running everything from intro dives to professional courses. If you’re a newer diver, or just haven’t been in the water for a while, they’re particularly good at getting you comfortable and confident. A top tip: ask if they’re running any early morning trips to Ras Disha, it’s a quieter site and the light is incredible just after sunrise.
