Dolphin House - Hurghada

The Dolphin House, or Sha'ab El Erg, is a sprawling horseshoe reef in Hurghada, known for its frequent dolphin encounters. We’ve had incredible luck here, often spotting pods of Indian Ocean bottlenose dolphins, sometimes even false killer whales, especially early in the morning before the crowds arrive. It's a fairly shallow dive, great for extended bottom times and good for newer divers, though we’d suggest going with a guide who knows the topography well to maximise your chances of a dolphin encounter. When the dolphins aren't around, the reef still holds plenty of interest; look for the brightly coloured diagonal butterflyfish and the surprisingly shy cowfish tucked amongst the corals.
