El Fanadir Foc - Hurghada

We often find ourselves drawn back to El Fanadir Foc, especially for a relaxed morning dive. It’s one of those spots where you can just drift, absorbing the sheer scale of the reef. The wall drops into the blue, and while it might not have the dramatic canyons of some other Red Sea sites, its gentle slope and current make for an easy cruise. We love dropping in and letting the current carry us north, keeping the reef to our right. The sheer density of fish here is what really makes it special. You'll often spot massive schools of fusiliers and anthias creating shimmering curtains, and we’ve spent ages just watching the banded blennies darting in and out of the staghorn corals. Keep an eye out for the camouflaged groupers, they’re masters of disguise here, and the armed squirrelfish often peek out from under ledges. It's a fantastic spot for macro, too; we’ve had some great finds with the reticulate sandgobies and even a few African eel blennies if you’re patient. We’d suggest going early; the light hitting the wall is just spectacular, and you avoid the afternoon boat traffic. It’s perfect for newer divers building confidence, or anyone who just wants a beautiful, effortless dive.
