Erg Somaya is a solid choice for a dive in Hurghada, offering a pleasant mix of reef features without being overly demanding. We often find ourselves drifting along a gentle slope here, keeping an eye out for the resident Red Sea Clown Surgeonfish darting around the coral heads. It’s a good spot to really slow down and appreciate the smaller details, like the shy Bluebell Blennies peeking from their holes or the colourful Wrasse foraging among the rocks. We’ve had some memorable encounters with schools of Sleek Unicornfish here too. While not a dramatic wall dive, Erg Somaya reliably delivers a relaxed and engaging underwater experience, perfect for a chilled-out afternoon.
