Umm Gamar West offers a decent dive for those looking to get away from Hurghada's busier spots. We often find good visibility here, with the reef dropping off to a sandy bottom that’s home to more than a few interesting bottom dwellers. Look closely for Reticulate Sandgobies darting back into their burrows and the occasional African eel blenny poking its head out. It’s a comfortable drift dive when the current picks up, generally a good option for divers who prefer a more relaxed pace and enjoy spotting the smaller stuff, like the colourful Dapple coris.
