Elphinstone is a wall dive where divers can encounter dolphins, humpback whales, oceanic whitetip sharks, sea turtles and spinner dolphins. Water ranges 23-31°C, warmest July, August, September.
Elphinstone is a classic Red Sea wall dive, a long, narrow reef that drops away into the deep blue. We usually approach it as a drift, letting the current carry us along the vibrant soft corals that cling to the walls. Keep an eye out into the blue, because this is a famous spot for pelagics – we’ve had some incredible encounters with oceanic whitetips here, and there's always a chance of a whale shark passing through. It’s definitely one for experienced divers comfortable with deeper profiles and potentially strong currents.
