Why dive here
Shaab Nakari is a reef dive where divers can encounter dolphins, humpback whales, oceanic whitetip sharks, sea turtles and spinner dolphins. Water ranges 23-31°C, warmest July, August, September.
Shaab Nakari sits just offshore from the Nakari village, a fairly easy boat ride from the Marsa Alam marinas. We usually find it’s a good spot for a relaxed drift. Keep your eyes peeled for those distinctive cowfish tucked into crevices and the occasional pharaoh cuttlefish doing its colour-changing dance. We’ve had a few lucky encounters here with pods of bottlenose and even bridled dolphins passing through, which always makes for a special dive. It’s a solid option for newer divers, or anyone looking for a chill Red Sea immersion without too much fuss.
