Safaga Soraya

Safaga Soraya is one of those shallower spots you hit when you're looking for something a bit more mellow, especially if the big sites are kicking up a fuss. It's not going to blow your mind with dramatic drops, but it’s a good place to slow down and really look. We often spot the brownbar snapping shrimp here, busy in their little burrows, and the sand-dusted cone snails are usually cruising the substrate. The seagrass beds, a mix of *Thalassia* and *Cymodocea*, are worth a close look for smaller critters, and we've even had a few fleeting encounters with Indian Ocean bottlenose dolphins passing through. It’s ideal for a relaxed second or third dive, or for honing your macro skills.
