Sharm Rashid - Safaga

Sharm Rashid sits a bit off the main boat routes in Safaga, which means you often get it to yourselves. We’ve had some cracking dives here, finding everything from the tiny Brownbar snapping shrimp on the reef wall to groups of Variable Stromb working their way across the sandy patches. It’s a good spot for a relaxed drift, with the current often gently pushing you along the reef edge, past some decent hard coral formations. Keep an eye out into the blue, especially in spring; we’ve had playful Indian Ocean bottlenose dolphins swim by, and the occasional whale shark passes through the area. It’s not a dramatic drop-off, more of a sloping reef, making it a comfortable dive for anyone keen on taking their time.
