Soma Gatden is one of those Safaga sites that doesn't scream for attention but delivers a really pleasant, easy dive. We usually find ourselves drifting over extensive seagrass beds here, which are always worth a closer look for the smaller stuff – think Sand-dusted Cone snails and Variable Strombs slowly making their way across the blades. Keep an eye out for Brownbar snapping shrimp popping in and out of their burrows. While not a coral spectacular, it’s a good spot for patient divers who enjoy the subtleties of the Red Sea’s quieter inhabitants. We've even had a few lucky encounters with Indian Ocean bottlenose dolphins cruising by in the distance.
