GRAVILLE - Dahlak Archipelago

Graville sits in some seriously shallow water, barely 4m deep, but don't let that fool you into thinking it's not worth the fin kick. This isn't some pristine, intact wreck ready for a swim-through tour. Graville is a proper wreck, broken and scattered, the kind that tells a story of the sea reclaiming its own. We love that it’s a site that feels genuinely undiscovered, far from the polished perfection of more popular Red Sea wrecks. What you get here is pure atmospheric immersion. The steamship’s bones are spread across the seabed, twisted metal frames acting as anchors for some surprisingly robust coral growth. You’ll find schools of fusiliers darting through the wreckage, and we’ve spotted plenty of morays tucked into the darker crevices. Visibility here can sometimes be a bit hazy, especially if there’s been some recent chop, but that just adds to the haunting beauty of the place. It's a fantastic spot for photographers looking for something a bit different, or anyone who appreciates a wreck with genuine character rather than just a checklist of species. Come in the morning for the best light, it really highlights the patina on the old iron.
