M/V CLEOPATRA - Eilat

We've always had a soft spot for the M/V Cleopatra. It's a proper Eilat classic, sitting upright in just 12 meters of water, making it genuinely accessible for almost any diver. We love dropping down and seeing that distinct silhouette emerge from the blue, a small but sturdy cargo ship that sank way back in 1957. This isn't a deep, technical wreck, it's a lovely relaxed exploration. You can easily spend an entire dive just circling the main deck, peeking into the open holds where the light filters down, creating these cool, moody shafts. The interesting part is how much life has made it home: we always spot lionfish hovering near the superstructure, and often see schools of cardinalfish darting in and out of the darker corners. It's a great spot to practice buoyancy too, navigating around the wheelhouse and bow, which are surprisingly intact. For photographers, the ambient light is fantastic, especially mid-morning, really bringing out the rust colours against the clear Red Sea blue.
