Satil Wreck - Eilat

The Satil Wreck, an old missile boat, is one of our favourite dives in Eilat, a real standout. It sits upright, mostly intact, on a sandy bottom at 24 metres. We love dropping down onto the deck, the whole ship feeling surprisingly accessible. You can poke your head into the bridge, swim along the deck past the missile launchers, and even fin through a few of the larger interior spaces. The light shafts are lovely, especially on a sunny morning. What makes it special for us is how quickly marine life has adopted it. Diagonal butterflyfish flit through the old radar mast, and we’ve often spotted Rama Rao's scorpionfish tucked into crevices – keep an eye out for their camouflage. The coral growth isn't ancient, but it’s healthy, particularly the staghorn flourishing on the bow. Look for the little Arabian blennies peeking out from holes in the metalwork. This is an intermediate dive, perfect if you’re comfortable with your buoyancy and ready for some gentle wreck penetration without being too challenging. We'd suggest getting there early to enjoy the best light and fewer other divers.
