Yatush Wreck - Eilat

The Yatush Wreck is a proper fun dive, one we always try to squeeze in when we’re in Eilat. This isn't some ancient galleon; it's an old patrol boat, scuttled deliberately in 1999 to make an artificial reef. It sits upright on the seabed, around 28 metres at the deepest point, which means you've got good bottom time if you're smart with your air. What we love about the Yatush is how accessible it is, even for newer wreck divers. You can swim through the bridge easily, and the main deck is usually swarming with schooling bannerfish and fusiliers. Keep an eye out for moray eels tucked into the darker corners – they're practically residents. We've often seen lionfish patrolling the railing, too, their fins fanned out. Conditions are generally calm here, with minimal current, making it a relaxed exploration. Our favourite time to dive it is late afternoon, as the light shifts and hits the wreck at a different angle, giving everything a really atmospheric glow. You’ll probably want to do it twice.
