KHALIL - Tyre

The Khalil wreck, sitting at a shallow 11 meters, feels like stepping into a snapshot of maritime history. This isn't your pristine, intact vessel; she's a testament to a dramatic end, dynamited and sunk after an attack. We love how the damage tells a story, with twisted metal and gaping holes that invite exploration. You can swim through sections of the hull, imagining the chaos of her final moments, and it’s surprisingly roomy inside. What makes Khalil special for us is the way the sea has reclaimed it. Schools of silversides shimmer through the sunlit interior, and we've spotted groupers peeking from shadowy crevices. Look closely, and you'll find nudibranchs inching across the encrusted beams. While the wreck itself is the star, the marine life here is quietly thriving, transforming a scene of destruction into a vibrant artificial reef. It's a surprisingly poignant dive, best enjoyed on a calm day when the light penetrates deep into the wreck's skeletal remains.
