The team at Abyss - Lebanese Divers College are the real deal, diving the Lebanese coast for decades. They’re PADI 5 Star, which is great for courses, but we’d send you there for the local flavour and genuine passion. Tyre isn't on every diver’s radar, and that’s precisely why we love it. You get a genuine sense of discovery here, away from the usual crowds. Their speciality is showing you what Tyre offers, from ancient Phoenician ruins lying quietly on the seabed to the seasonal wonders of migratory turtles. We've spent time with them, and their knowledge of the local wrecks is encyclopaedic. Expect good visibility usually, particularly in summer, but it can get a bit surgey after a big blow. Our favourite dives with them are often just off the coast, where the reef drops away, revealing schools of bream and the occasional dusky grouper lurking in the crevices. They're excellent for newer divers wanting to get certified in a relaxed environment, but also brilliant at guiding experienced folks to the less-frequented spots. Don’t expect luxury, expect authenticity, good humour, and a proper Lebanese diving experience.
