NITZAN - Tyre

Nitzan is one of our favourite dives in Tyre, a fishing vessel sitting upright at a comfortable 19 metres. It’s a good, solid wreck dive, not too deep, and it’s always interesting to poke around. We find that the stern section, with its intact propeller, is particularly photogenic, especially when the light is just right in the late morning. There’s a certain melancholy about it, seeing the fishing nets still draped in places, hinting at its past life. The wreck itself is home to a surprising amount of life. We regularly see big schools of barracuda circling the mast, and the deckhouse is often buzzing with damselfish. Look closely, and you’ll spot nudibranchs clinging to the hull and moray eels peeking from crevices. It’s not a massive wreck, so you can take your time exploring the key features without feeling rushed. We think Nitzan is ideal for wreck enthusiasts looking for a relaxed dive with plenty of character and a good chance to see some healthy reef fish.
