The team at Dive In Arraba are just great, really, some of the warmest welcomes we’ve ever had. They’re PADI through and through, running all the usual courses from open water right up to specialties. We’ve found they really shine with newer divers, making those first few breaths underwater feel completely natural, building confidence without ever being pushy. If you’re looking to get certified or just brush up on skills in a relaxed, friendly environment, this is our top pick in Tyre. What we really love about diving with them is their focus on the local sites. The ancient city ruins just offshore are fascinating, not because they’re bursting with colour, but because of the sheer sense of history. You're finning over pottery shards and remnants of old harbour walls, imagining centuries of ships sailing in and out. Keep an eye out for octopus tucked into crevices and the occasional moray eel peering from a broken amphora. Visibility can be a bit variable, especially after winter storms, but on a good day, with the sun filtering down, it’s quite a peaceful, reflective dive. They also know the spots further afield for some decent reef diving, where we’ve seen schools of barracuda cruise by. Our tip? Ask them about an early morning dive if you can, before any surface chop picks up – the light is always best then.
